Hi,

 

we we have had a 1.2 petrol yeti for just under a year. It has done just under 67,000 miles and is an 11 plate. 

 

Recently the warning light came on (looks like engine, but according to manual related to exhaust). The car lost power in second going up a hill. 

 

After stopping and restarting, no more light, but Since then there seems to be sporadic loss of power and juddering on acceleration - typically around 2,000 revs and above. The engine feels like it’s not quite timing right and it’s missing a beat.

 

Just had it serviced as it needed anyway and thought I’d see if that fixed it but no joy. 

 

Any thoughts?

Has it had the ‘service campaigns’ done on it eg the ignition harness, the motronic ecu and cam chain stretching.    IIRC.

It has had the standard service regime.  I will have to check that these things were completed.

Is it a manual or a DSG?

 

What did the standard service regime have fitted?    Standard Fixed or Variable Servicing is no guarantee new consumables are fitted.

When were the spark plugs changed last, when was the air filter changed,

has the fitted for life Fuel Filter been changed? they can be.

 

Are there invoices showing the parts supplied?

There is the issue with the ignition lead as well.  There is a TPI on that which Main Dealer Technicians should know all about.
