Electric Tailgate Closing - Using Fob

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've done a forum search, but most threads on this subject are quite old... so thought I'd start a new one

We picked up our build-week 13 Superb on Saturday, and I was lead to believe (various posts on here and the dealer - though she wasn't 100% sure) that I could close the electric tailgate via they key fob (non-kessy).

I have tried this - holding the tailgate button on the fob - doing a double press, and any other combination I could think of, and it won't work.

So my question is:  Is it supposed to work from the Fob?  Should I contact the dealer if there's any coding they can do?

I'm aware you can't close the boot from the internal button - which is disappointing as it would be more useful than using the fob.

Yes it will work with a double press from inside the car or out. You have to hold the button down after the second press. Mine has Kessy so don't know if it possible with a standard key.

Closing the tailgate is possible if you are stood in the rear 3/4 or behind it with a single press and hold.

It only works with KESSY. Non-KESSY can be changed (with VCP) so it will close from cabin/fob as well.

@GaSelle - is VCP the Dealer Diags, or an aftermarket software like VCDS?

OK thanks :)

I think I'll probably leave it as is and deal with it then :)

This post may have just saved me hours of trying to figure out the logic of the electric boot on the skoda superb. Not seen this written anywhere!
