New model year in August?

Featured Replies

I’m changing my Octavia in September when the pcp ends, and I’m set on a kodiaq. I’m reading with interest that the 1.4/1.5 petrol engines are now not available until August as that’s a ‘new model year’. Does that mean that the kodiaq will get any additional features or other changes? I don’t want to order one now (for sept delivery) only for some of the options I choose to become ‘free’ in August! Anyone know what ‘new model year’ normally means for spec?

Cheers.

I believe all slots for have been filled for petrols until August anyway so no orders are being accepted. So yes best to wait until then to order. There's talk of the digital speedo coming to play soon as well so that could well be something to look forward to.

Nothing in life is free.

If the MY19 cars get additions to their specification they'll also likely see a price increase too.

As has been mentioned, if it's petrol you want, and it's a factory order you'll be getting MY19 anyway due to the freeze on orders for petrol engines.

Thanks, makes sense. I’m currently torn between a petrol / diesel. I guess I’ll see what the dealer can do for me!

There are still plenty of brand new petrol's in stock, either in storage at the plant in the Czech Republic, at the docks in Emden in Germany, at the various ports in the UK and at Skoda UK's compound. Skoda will have built plenty to see them through.

You'll be limited on factory options and colours but your dealer will be able to check on the system to see what is available.

If you require a car in September it might be a case of take what’s available or wait until October/ November

Orders for some variants of some models are closed until September (and when they reopen probably got 3+ weeks to build plus another 4-6 weeks delivery.

Prices May go up, and not uncommon for something to be dropped from standard spec when something else added.
