Slow warm up? 2001 1.4 Mpi Auto

Featured Replies

I noticed today that it took about 5 miles for the engine coolant temperature guage to show normal running temperature. The ambient temperature was around 2°C.

Engine code is AUA.

This is the wifes' car and I don't drive it often enough to know if this is slower than normal.

The car has done only 4600 miles from new the coolant (and the rest of the car) look brand new.

Is this normal for the model or is the thermostat stuck open?

Sounds about right to me.

Thanks,

My Volvo V70 is always at normal temperature in about 1 mile, no matter what the ambient temperature, so I thought the Fabia was a bit slow to warm up.
