Aircon Compressor not being recognised by ECU

Featured Replies

Hi,

2011 Superb, Aircon stopped working, no cold air. Took it for a regas at a specialist, not a Skoda garage. Told me the aircon compressor is fine but the problem is that the car's computer cannot see the compressor. checking the ECU, the compressor is identified but all the codes are missing so the car cannot communicate with it. recommended I take it to a specialist who can manually add the codes, don't take it to a dealer as they will want to replace the compressor or the ECU. He still charged €50 for the regas....

Looking for assistance with the following:

1. Recommendations on a suitable 'specialist' in the Dublin area

2. Thoughts on the suggested approach and any alternatives folks feel might work better

3. Should I go to a main dealer

Thanks in advance for any help, it's getting warmer out there and if we get a heat wave I could be in real trouble ;-)

Best, RPM.
