Clicking from steering wheel

Could it be the clock-spring, do all the buttons on the wheel work?
Or maybe be the indicator cancel mechanism or the top column bearing.

I thought maybe the indicator mechanism. I also read a lot about it being the cv joint but as noise seems to come from directly behind the steering wheel thoughy this was unlikely. How would i check if it was the indicator

I had this the other day.

Every time I went round a corner I heard this clink.

Go round another & clink.

After driving around for 10 hours, I finally found the answer.

My Granddaughter had left 2 marbles in the center arm rest.

They clinked together as I went round the corner.

:D

Sounds like a load of B@££$ :D - sorry couldn't resist

Seriously though - worth checking out just to make sure. I had a Fiat Punto a few years ago owned from 2 1/2 years old that had a strange steering noise - the steeering column to rack pinch bolt hadn't been er "pinched" - probably from new! Easily sorted but could have been much more serious!
