DAB/FM autoswitching

Featured Replies

If you lose reception on DAB it is meant to switch to FM, I have the box ticked for this in the options but it doesn't appear to work and the radio goes quiet until reception is picked up again, this is with the columbus unit. It worked fine on my Octavia and Yeti, has anyone else had this problem and got any ideas.

Can you set this on the Amundsen ? Normally if I lose reception i just switch to the SD media

That depends on whether the DAB station you are listening to has an FM equivalent in your area.

EG: Hallam FM (South Yorkshire) has DAB and FM here, and auto switches (on my Superb mk3) BUT Magic Radio (London) has DAB reception in South Yorkshire, but no FM equivalent, so if the DAB goes while I'm listening to Magic, it just goes dead until the signal returns.

It was radio 2 I was listening to so it should have changed. The Columbus I had in my 13 plate yeti changed seamlessly.

Hmm... is it Columbus in your Karoq? If so it'll be the same as my Superb SEL

Yes it is, I had a columbus in my yeti and an amundson in my octavia and they both switched over fine, I have ticked the box for auto fm .

Just bumping this as I find it a little annoying as there is one point on my journey to work where the dab signal drops out and it doesn't swap over to FM even though the box is ticked in settings.

I get this with the Bolero in my Octavia. Annoying as, say, Radio Derby traffic news comes through on FM but the radio program does not switch to FM after cutting out on DAB.

Yes, can't remember if it is off by default, however it is easy to find in the RADIO menu and seems to work quite well, all I really notice is slightly quieter volume and a loss of fidelity, much better than my old DAB radio that just squaked and fell silent for 20+ seconds

I have a Karoq Edition with the Columbus but can’t find this setting. Can anyone help?
