Can anybody tell where the best and strongest place to mount a Catch Tank please on a Mk 1 pd 100 .

Somewhere that's not to hard to access to drain it. Use a small L shape bracket to attach to an existing bolt, or drill a hole to mount it. 

 

Mine is here (pd130)

Many thanks Gt4thomas for your reply, I was thing of that position, maybe using alongside the air inlet.
