ABS lights on

Featured Replies

Hello ,

I have got a Skoda Fabia 2006. The ABS light has come on and during medium to hard braking there is sound like clattering from the breaks .the brakes don’t hold well during this time . Any solutions and much would this cost to be fixed .

Thanks

It's impossible to say how much to get it fixed because we don't know what's wrong with it. You need to get the brakes inspected.

It's a sensor or a reluctor ring failure, a code scan will tell you which one and on which wheel.

As above, with the note that metallic sounds from the brakes usually indicate worn-out pads and/or broken or missing anti-rattle springs.

Hi

thanks for the reply . I doubt it’s the rattleing pins . It’s more of abs kicking in early that’s what the mechanic said .

Thanks Inthink so will have to get a scan done . Could it be the abs pump . As had the abs kicking in early especially on wet or drain covers etc .

@Yathish - Well, early ABS cut-in should feel through the pedal as a gentle kicking back of the pedal against your foot. The most likely cause of that is a miss-set sensor air gap, so have you had a wheel bearing replaced recently?
