High flow RACE DPF by Darkside Develpments

Recommended Posts

I sent them this message:

"Hello, I'm considering replacing my DPF with the universal high flow unit you sell. I just wanted to know if the emissions (assuming all else is fine with the engine) will pass the MOT test with this unit on. Also, a mechanic I know seems to think that the average exhaust temperature at the manifold of my 2.0 TDI is about 200, whereas you stipulate in your description that the high flow DPF needs to reach 300 to work. Any clarification on this would be most appreciated."

This was their reply:

"Hi Jon

There should be no reason why it would not pass the emissions test, but it is not EU certified so it may not pass the visual inspection. It is still a grey area.

The average temperature is much higher than 200 degrees on your model. The Factory EGT Limit in the turbo is 850, which they almost reach in stock from. With a tune this is increased to 900 - 950

Thanks"

I decided to sell my dpf-ed Leon fr about 3 months ago and get a stock vrs.   I'm gonna wait a couple of years before doing anything as I don't want to ruin a new car for the sake of chasing a few more ponies.
