Which paint for touch ups?

Featured Replies

I would be touching that up by spraying not a touch up pen. No harm seeing how you do though, you can rub it down again, mask it and spray just the damage. Not going too far onto the panel.

Spray rattle can mixed at a local Motor Factors, or bought online.

Should look good as new, my favourite red vRS had many touch ups....

Cheers, I'll look for some spray. :)

This spray work wonders as offski says, fine sand & blend in the spray can then build up in layers,

this is the blue one  but you need red so you know the type, not cheap but its really good:

@Chibakun - Try your local Skoda dealer, who'll use the chassis number to order the same batch code rather than just the same colour name, and for me came out the same price as Halfrauds.

Thanks for the links.

What kind of sand paper do you use?

Very very fine, and wet and dry wet.   Important get rid of all or any wax.   Watch how to do a invisble repair on YouTube.   Just a simple job,  do not spray loads of area,  just a simple touch up.

...Personally, I would get him to pay for a professional chips and dents company to come round and fix it. They might offer a deal to do his at the same time!  I am sure you know he done it as the scuff will almost certainly match damage to his vehicle.

I haven't done a touch up job in decades, so will post some results (before and after) and comments when I get around to it.

Not 100% happy but it doesn't make me want to swear every time I walk past it, to get in the car of a morning.
