Octavia VRS (diesel) - When to change cambelt ?

Featured Replies

Hello all

I have a 61 plate diesel VRS. Can anyone please tell me when I need to get the cambelt changed? Car has only done 35k miles but is obviously now 7 years old. Im guessing it may be due around now ?

Also what other parts should I get replaced at the same time ? Water pump / pulleys(?) etc?

Thanks for your assistance :)

Dan

Skoda suggest every 5 years in the UK so you're over due. Not sure what the maximum milage is...

When I had mine done, I had the water pump and aux belt done too :-)

Way past due, it's usually 4 years, and if it goes you'll probably say goodbye to your engine.

Get water pump, pulleys, and  tensioners done at the same time,

Thankyou both! I have just got it booked in :)

I got mine recently changed at Awesome in Manchester and they did a competitive price at £360 with belt, water pump, pulley and a full flush of coolant. They did an excellent job and nice to deal with. Dealership was asking £480 with water pump change.

Mine is a 62 plate VRS TDI with 52000 miles.
