Fuel filter

Featured Replies

Hi all. Found out today that the fuel feed pipe into the fuel filter had came off and the car wouldn’t start obviously. I put the pipe back on by the clip that fits on the filter and the clip part of the pipe had some play in it when was clipped on. Just wondering what part this would be called so I can order a new one and re fit this myself and where I could also get it from in quick time. I have a Skoda fabia mk2 vrs

I can't remember the name of the actual clips but they are similar to jubilee clips. Jubilee clips have a screw head to tighten or even a wing nut type head but the hose clips are squeeze-fitted. Hose clip might be a useful description, or pinch-clip. Halfords, etc will most likely have them or most car parts outlets. Jubilee clips are kind of an older fashioned version and the later ones are quicker to remove so more popular now but they are a bit prone to loosening if removed often. Perhaps better to replace with the filter at filter changing time. The drwa back to jubilee clips is that they are easy to over tighten and damage the hose they are holding so take care not to over tighten, especially on a fuel line.

A bit late maybe, but it sounds more like it is a push on repair kit you need, unfortunately I'd expect that you would need to get one ordered in - unless you get a dealer's workshop to sort you out as I'd expect that workshop stores would carry that type of thing.
