Door Locking

Featured Replies

Can someone please help me? My driver's door is not locking when the 'Central locking' key fob is pressed. All other doors do lock but the Driver's door does not. I have read that it could be a fuse but the handbook does not give any info on this. I have a Fabia 2012 Greenline 1.2 l diesel

Try using the key in the lock, turning to lock all doors and holding. Then do the same to unopen. If this opens all doors electrically, it may also open windows if you keep it in the locked/unlocked position for a few seconds, then it most likely won't be a fuse but if it just mechanically unlocks just the drivers door, it might be either fuse, wiring or the module that operates the system. Try first, though. It might just need re-setting.

BTW, might be worth putting this in Fabia mk2 forum so more Fabia owners will read it.

When I open and hold the fob down, both front windows open, but the drivers door does not.

After I open the door manually with the key in lock, If I lock and hold, the windows close but the door does not lock.

Worth doing a fail scan with e.g. VCDS to see what fault code the door controller returns. IMHO the most likely problem is either with the connection to the lock or the microswitch within the lock (which has been quite a common problem with VAG door locks over the years).

Take the trim off and test the lock directly, test the connections and the wires for brken ones.

Does anyone know an approximate charge for Skoda garage to change microswitch?

If Skoda say the same as Audi (probably will as they are all VAG parts) they will say the microswitch cannot be replaced only the whole lock. Which is why owners have taken the lock out and adjusted the microswitch (It's not normally failed just gone out of adjustment) themselves and saved £££
