Turbo issue maybe?

Featured Replies

Alright people, I know my turbo has an issue with the veins as on tick over but the turbo works with no boost lost etc, but I'm not sure how long it's been like this but in first and second the turbo takes forever to kick on major lag but if the revs are already up there it's fine just lower revs where the turbo should be kicking in any idea?

By low revs how low do you mean?. You won't make any boost below 1,500rpm. If your not making boost above that it does sound like sticking veins.

Might be worth taking the turbo off and giving the veins a good clean.

Has it suddenly started doing it or since a new turbo. Could be the stop screw needs adjusting

Between 1500 to 2000 and I'm not sure if it's been doing it since I've owned it had loads of boost issues with different intercooler pipes being worn not sure whether it's just worth biting the bullet and just getting the turbo reconditioned or not

Its most likely an issue with the stop screw or actuator not being set properly, and youve not noticed it until now when youve got everything else sorted. A reconditioned turbo is only really necessary if there is an issue with the core.

No prob mate. Make sure you order a new oil feed line (preferably braided), as removing the original one is a massive pain.

Sorry for the extremely late reply pick up the turbo Friday which I sent for reconditioning after getting the pd150 turbo and fully replacing everything it still worked out cheaper than a new pd150 turbo and thankyou for that too I'll get one ordered
