What's the reason for not wanting a FMIC?

1 price

2 don’t like the look of the pipes out the bumper

3 not 100% sure on this one but will I have to remove a/c pump to fit ?

Like I say it’s all new to me

first car

I've got a THS fmic on mine, both pipes on the same side.

Pipework isnt visable at all and all standard grilles are in place

Now that’s something I’d look into... did you have to do any mods for that mate ? And if you don’t mind me asking where from and how much ? Thanks

None at all but I was lucky because it came with all the pipe work and a crash bar which was already modified for the cooler.

In short part of the rear of the crash bar has to be ground out so the upper hose sits inside the bar effectively

The price isnt really a great guide because I purchased it second hand along with a full Magnex turbo back system for £500, this included the crash bar and all pipework

I did however almost purchase an identical intercooler on ebay for £189 delivered brand new, unbranded but the same style and still with pipework.

I'll see if I can find the link

That’s spot on that is mate I don’t mind having the fmic aslong as it’s hidden I mean nothing against it being visible just not my cup of tea

Mine is almost impossible to see and its silver, you can just see the top of it through the grille I think but a black one would be invisible pretty much.

I wouldnt bother with an unrated side mount. Yes it may be better than a standard one but will still suffer from headsoak, even the Leon Cupra boys that have a twin side mount set up change for a front mount when it comes to tuning

Yeah I think I will go for that one then not a bad price aswell iv had the car 12 months now so looking to get a bit more out of it ... it had a stage 1 when I bought it but there were no mods at all it was used as a business car 1 owner from new so I put 007p diverter valve on and pipercross air filter as I read up the induction kits were no good for these .... so now looking at exhaust and intercooler ... any other mods I should look into?

I've gone for a 007p as well, just remember to change the spring for the yellow one when you get it mapped.

As a rule I wouldn't bother with induction kits and have always used pipercross panel filters on everything else even my bikes but I this occasion I went for a ramair kit with heat shield. Its clearly sucking a lot more air than a standard air box would over allow but you do get a lot of induction noise as a result

Hmm now more grunt from under the bonet is always good but wouldn’t it still be sucking in warm air from the bay ?

And yeah I’ll certainly change the spring as I read up the difference on them

Not if its heat shielded, sure to a degree it would but as it can take it so much more air the amount of it being warmer outweighs the fresh cold stuff coming in

Just for another one, I have a Forge FMIC on mine, not cheap but great bit of kit.

Can't see it without looking hard so looks stock.

They're Miltotec corner splitters.
