Yo,

Just joining in here, I'll likely be asking lots of questions (not sure how many I'll be able to answer though)

I've recently bought an old Octavia (2004 L&K Estate). It's barely had a life and has seemingly been very well looked after and I'm hoping it will last me a while.

So far I'm very impressed, radio sound quality was AWFUL however, so that's the first thing I'm in the process of updating.

Octy 2 1.4TSI ESTATE CAXA Quite uncertain where to enter this question. The keyfob#1 has started to cause serious problems with the car alarm system. So far keyfob#2 is working with no problem. Car alarm starting randomly and only disconnecting the battery helped. Yesterday the alarm kept sounding/flashing even when the engine was running - undrivable. Is there a home cure whereby I can remap/reset the key fob? My very helpful auto sparks is unable to help

Hi Everyone, I have been investigating how I can replace the decorative trim pieces on the console of the O4 (see attached picture (version I would like). The easy part has been figuring out the general part numbers, however I get stuck on the specifics. I know the O4 has two technical variants; one with stock leds and one with RGB leds, and that there is a multitude of different codes for all the different colours/textures. Hoping to purchase a 2.0l TSi Sportline/Laurin & Klement variant at some point soon. My budget may result in me seeking out a vehicle with 95K onwards on the clock. I’ll be only considering something with a full comprehensive service history. My understanding is that I shouldn’t worry about cam chain tensioners as they go on and on. But do they? So is there anything I should really looking out for? Thanks

This might be just a coincidence. But I have just had a new windscreen fitted following a rock being thrown up by a lorry's wheels hitting it, which left a small chip, which after a few days became a long crack and was growing. The screen was replaced last week, and yesterday I discovered the seat was not responding to the controls. I cannot see any fuse listed in the owner's manual which states it supplies power to the seats. The driver's seat is working as usual, which made me think it must b

Real world range from hybrid battery?

I'm driving a 2024 1.5 TSI PHEV (plug in hybrid) superb estate. I've never plugged it in though, only ever driven it on petrol. The manufacturers claimed battery range is 75 miles but can anyone tell me what I can expect in the real world? Just for info... Over the 20 months I've had it I average about 40/41mpg. It drops to about 36/38mpg in winter and up to 44/45mpg in summer.
