New Octavia- a couple of questions!

Featured Replies

Hello

I've recently bought an Octavia 1.4 SEL estate, a year old. I'm really impressed by the boot size and how well it drives. Seems brilliant overall.  I've been trying to get the driver display working, but the toggles on the end of the indicator stalk don't do anything, and there is no button underneath, as indicated in the user manual, is there a way to show real time speed, mpg etc? Also, how does it decide which of the paired phones it will connect to if more than one are in the car?

It has a spare wheel and a space on the rhs of the boot, both with some lashings and underneath the boot floor (well, in the variable up position hole) that looks like it's made to hold something, is that tyre foam for cars without?

I'm also impressed by the auto folding mirrors when lock the car, is that a standard feature?

Many thanks

Alex

The display is changed using the right scroll wheel on the steering wheel.

I believe eve it picks the phone that was last connected, if two or more are present. Mine certainly does.

Folding mirrors are standard on SEL I believe.

That works only on the guest profile, but if it's mine it's just my phone, is it my phone or the other data? And what on earth do the seat picture on that display?!

Thanks!

The display, I find I have to push in on the top/down button on the stalk for a couple of seconds, it then brings up options (radio etc.)

Both my phones connect simultaneously. I get a little toggle button next to the phone name to switch between the two, but I believe either can ring once connected

I see it now, I can do it on a guest profile but not on mine, which is odd!

Me too.

Picked up my 1.4 tsi del hatch back on Wednesday and already done around 300 miles in it !

Mine has the DSG gearbox and in ECO mode I am pleasantly stunned at the well over 60 mpg !

16 inch wheels need to go for either 17s or 18s  and I think it need a proper boot fin like I had on a previous MK 2 1.8 TSI L&K DSG.

I have had two Octy VRS before ie Mk 1 and 2 (proper petrol ones of course), and I have a good feeling that I will enjoy the 1.4 TSI DSG (150) similar to the 1.8 TSI (160) L&K DSG more than I did the VRSs on a day to day basis.

It has the Michelin "Green" OE tyres which maybe good on rolling resistant, and are allegedly Traction rating A, but seem to let go a little too easy.

8 seconds to 60 and 136 mph top wack (for German road only) seem plenty and combined with the 60 mpg ticks the boxes for me !
