I am confused! There are several threads here but I have a question.  I have an April 17 non-facelift Greenline SE Technology.  I am currently downloading the 12GB maps update but is there a firmware update that changes the menus / interface in any way?  It is a horrible GUI to navigate through looking for sound settings and music tracks on SD/USB.

Nope, the interface is what it is and no update is going to change how it works.

Thank you, that's that answered then.  I seen threads like MIB1 MIB2 etc. so I thought it was updates to the whole thing like Win 7 to Win 10. Not the case then. D'oh!

MIB1 was pre mid 2015 and MIB2 after that until the facelift. Apart from some extra features and in the case of the Amundsen a slightly larger and better resolution screen, the interface remained virtually the same. Not possible to update from MIB1 to MIB2 without ripping out the units and replacing them.

 

I don't think it's that bad, it's certainly not a patch on iDrive, but it's still one of the better systems out there.
