Predicting future values of cars

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any sites that let you predict the future value of a car?

I'm still looking at choices for my next car and want to calculate the total cost over three years and 90k miles. I can guesstimate a purchase cost , servicing costs , fuel costs but not how much it will be worth at the end.

Some of the car mags have a residual value figure but thats always for three years and 30k miles which won't be accurate for one with three times the mileage.

It's not an exact science but you could try playing around the the mileage figures on the Vauxhall/Glasses site to give you an idea of the effects miles has on certain cars.

Did you get a good price for the wife's vRs Stu?

the WhatCar website lets you compare up to 4 cars IIRC and plots you a nice depreciation graph, might help a bit.

Thanks , I'll have a play there and see what I can come up with.

At the mo I've just got some 36000 mile predicted values and then knocked a third off for the mileage change which might not be too bad.
