Being based outside Europe until the last few years I have only recently come across leasing deals for cars which I gather many people in the UK are using these days. I looked into it here (in France) when we were going to replace our Yeti, but found the monthly charges ridiculous. I can't recall what they were but they were offputting enough for it to be a no brainer to purchase either a s/h one here or import a new one from the UK (LHD but in a UK spec which are significantly less than those here). Fortunately we had the readies to do the latter. A quick google search came up with the following What Car page showing PCP deals of from about £190 for the more basic spec up to £250 or more per month for an L&K estate. Is this what people here are paying? If so the discrepancy with what's available through local dealers here is extraordinary.

Yep looks about right.  There would of course be some sort of deposit up front.  3-9 months of payments.
