Nivalis alloy wheels

Featured Replies

After my recent bump, both Skoda and my insurers have declined to replace my damaged alloys. They are the standard Scout Nivalis 17” wheels. Can anyone suggest where to look for replacements which might be cheaper than the almost £500 Skoda are quoting?

Also, my view is they should be replaced as part of the insurance claim due to the impact shock received with a wheel meeting a kerb at 40mph. Pictures below show the damage. Any collective thoughts on this?

You could try SuperSkoda as they usually have the official wheels at discounted prices.

So I get why Skoda wouldn’t replace, it’s not warranty after all. But what’s your insurers rationale for not replacing as part of the claim?

+1. OP what was the reason the insurers would not replace? I'd be pushing back on that massively and arguing that, as they were damaged and impacted as part of the accident you claimed for, they should be replaced. Do you have any recent photos of the car and the wheels prior to the accident, that would help your case and show they were pristine prior to it happening?

If somebody hit you in an accident, your wheels became damaged, and you claimed on insurance, they wouldn't return your car with the wheels "as is".

Can only see this as the insurer minimising their losses on the claim. Which to an extent is understandable, they are a business after all, but what's the point in having insurance to claim on if you still have to pay on top to finish the job?!

Skoda workshop could see no reason for recommending replacement!!

insurers are waiting on photos from the workshop of the actual damage before reassessing.

I'd be wanting that replaced as well but I expect that there will be some fine print somewhere to say that it's still technically functional and only cosmetic damage.

If its buckled it's a different matter - has it been driven onto test or been on a balancer?
