Hi all,

Anyone know when this will be available as an option when ordering an Octavia? In the uk

Thanks

ben

I personally reckon you will see this on the next iteration of the Octavia.

It was announced and a few articles are floating around about it being available.

According to my local dealer, all orders for Octavia's (unsure about other models) are currently on hold as the factory is shut and no orders are being taken. Once the backlog has been completed they will start production on the next iteration.

I was offered it as an Option on MY19 cars.

But he’s probably paying extremely low BIK and enjoying the extra cash, rather than giving it to the taxman for the luxury of having a more powerful engine in a car he doesn’t own...

Where as some of us are HAVING to buy are own cars & as we pay for them, we have a choice.

Or sorry @Cubbington are you trying to convince me that buying your own car is cheaper than having a company car FORCED upon you ?

Agreed, on your first point; I bought my own car, made my own choice.

In my case, over the long-term it does work out cheaper to buy than have a company car.

And no, I’m not trying to convince you of anything, just trying to put a different perspective across, as the chap may have other priorities, and if he has, I think he’s made a sensible choice.

Cheers,

Sounds like you haven´t tried that engine. It´s simply brilliant! I have the same engine in a Golf, and it feels close to my Superb 1.4 TSI.

Agree completely,I have one and it's remarkable considering its size, perfectly adequate in the real world even having come in my case from a long line of quick cars.

themanwithnoaim is comparing it against a "tweaked" vRS245 though...

Yeah. And lets compare his vRs to a RS6. Then the Skoda is ‘no go’. My point is, that these two engines can’t be compared - as with vRs/RS6 ;)

I've just came from a VW Scirocco R, which has 280hp, to a 110ps Rapid Spaceback and to be honest I'm not noticing a severe lack of power. It's never going to accelerate anywhere near as quick as the Scirocco but it's not slow either

I went from a tuned Audi RS4 to my current 1.4 TSI Octavia - no comparison in performance, but more space and better gadgets in the Octavia.
