Featured Replies

Hello guys,

Is our Kodiaq 2.0 TSI engine using the latest build EA888 Gen3b. (with budack cycle)?

or just EA888 Gen 3 without B?

Thank you.

Dear mr. Chen,

thank you for your question. The engines EA888 are generation 3 with B cycle.

In short, it's the latest version of EA888 TSI engine which is good  :)  , the same engine as 2018 New Tiguan.

B cycle = "Budack" cycle, an improved version from miller cycle.

This video explains...

Great video!

So the Budack over Otto cycle gives reduced fuel consumption under partial load and improved performance / torque under full load?

Is this just on the 2.0 TSI?

On a related note, that VW Tiguan (is it the larger 7-seat Allspace?) in the video looks an unsightly lump! Not sure the white paint helps but the Kodiaq looks much better in comparison!
