Don't worry, I still sleep easily at night.

Was hoovering out the kids 'pit' yesterday (i.e. the rear footwell) and was surprised to see these pretty big apertures which are presumably to feed air to the passengers feet.

They look as though they've been finished off with a junior hacksaw too.

Noticed similar observations over in the Karoq forum. Luckily I'm well versed in finding plastic stuff from China!

Compared to the others you’ve found that appears more cheap and nasty.

Yes you're right, thankfully they're still a step up from the plastic and finish Skoda used on the original vents!

Those covers look like they should restrict the airflow quite nicely. :wondering:

That was my take on this - I am aware of the vents (having seen the vent covers on sale), but I had never seen them until I specially went looking, moved the seats much farther forward, and craned my neck underneath.  I can't imagine my (occasional) rear passengers doing that, so assume they'd be better served by decent airflow?

As you can see from my first photo, they're very visible on my Kodiaq.

As for restricting airflow, I imagine it's the central air vents that best serve rear seat passengers.

If I get complaints of cold rear feet during the winter months I'll be sure to post back.
