Hello from Kent

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

Having driven 2 Yeti's previously, I was 'persuaded' to jump ship and opted for a Qashqai.  However, and despite all the bells and whistles that the Nissan offered, there was always something in the back of my mind yearning to return to a Skoda.

So, in mid-February I ordered a new Karoq 1.5 TSi SE L DSG and I have just picked it up from the dealers!

I am now looking forward to the pleasure of driving a Skoda once again and learning what the Karoq can do!

Hello MSK :hi:

What was wrong with the Qashqai? - I've always been interested in them.

Hi Gaz

Nothing at all, it was a very good car and I would recommend that you take a look at and test drive one if you are interested.

It has plenty of gizmo's as standard and if you like auto's then the CVT is really smooth, though you don't get the same sense of acceleration as with a DSG box.  There were a few rattles inside the car which I couldn't resolve (possibly loose wiring looms) and some of the plastic parts in the boot changed shape for some unknown reason and kept coming loose?

My problem was that the car was 3yrs old and I am the sort of person who likes to change their car every 3yrs or so and whilst Nissan had some exceptional offers on diesel Qashqai's, I didn't want to be driving around in the same car for another 3yrs even though it has recently had a facelift.  I know the Qashqai has been an outright success for Nissan and there are absolutely thousands on the road but I think Nissan will be changing the model at some time as it has been around so long.

Besides, I did so enjoy driving the Yeti and I am hoping the Karoq will give me as much enjoyment.
