...however........ couple of niggles already - wipers don't work unless the car is moving...

The wipers stop or slow if the car is stationary, even if it's raining. They work something along these lines...

Fastest setting - they slow to normal speed.

Normal speed - they stop and revert to 'auto' at a low level of sensitivity.

Auto setting - as per 'Normal speed' above.

As soon as you set off normal service resumes. I'm guessing it's a convenience feature to avoid the wipers scraping a dry screen or flapping away uneccessarily whilst the car is stopped.

All detailed in the owners manual.

From another forum regarding different batteries with the Kodiaq

The manual also explains how to replace the door protectors. I think Skoda are expecting a typical owner to  break a few over the life if the car.

Rather than travel to the dealer you might be able to persuade them to send you one in the post?

It's unlikely any paint protection is going to offer much resistence to scratches, it's more for increased resiliance to road debris and bird muck etc. How bad is it? Again if the dealer is a long way away they may agree to pay a local detailer to polish out for you?

Pictures or the car doesn't really exist :D

I agree the protectors are really consumables, 're the wipers they don't move at all or wash when the car is stationary - can't be correct surely!

Seems all the batteries are of a muchness, 1 or 2 ah won't make any difference l wouldn't have thought?

Oops just saw the bottom 59ah battery pic - must be the 125ps ?

In addition to Ah (Amp Hour) the amps (A) or CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) are important.

Quite some variety on batteries then, not only with spec but also manufacturer.

Did the 'other forum' mention the specs of the cars they were fitted to?

Could be worse, my mechanism on the rear right door broke and had to go in to get fixed...

At the dealers already!, stranded the wife earlier in the middle of nowhere as it wouldn't start, skoda chap came out quickly and started first time (typical) but has a fault code to check terminals on starting system somewhere. Very disappointing to say the least :(
