Have you got a sat nav? Drive at 30 on the Sat nav and see what your Speedo is doing.

 

My wife's 1.4 mpi 35 on the gauge was actually 30.

 

My VRS 32 on the Speedo is actually 30.

@Jokesy - Is there a motorway near you? If so, then there should be 16 white posts per mile down the hard shoulder. At 60mph you will pass 16 of those per minute.

They always overread a bit. Mine overreads about 4 mph according to my sat nav.
