Questions regarding which parts

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I've bought a 2006 Skoda Fabia 1.2 estate for the purpose of a charity rally to Mongolia. I'm new to the world of the Volkswagen group and I don't really understand how the part numbers work. I can't for the life of me work out which front brake discs and spark plugs I need. How would I go about finding out? The build sticker in the boot (I think that's what it was) is sadly illegible. I think I've seen previous threads where people get their VIN read and they find out which parts they need. If my recollection is correct, here's my VIN: TMBJY46Y464567430

Front discs may be  either 239mm, or 256mm, simple ways to tell which you have are to measure, or to look at the outward-facing part of the caliper.

If it says FSIII you will have 256mm discs: https://goo.gl/images/d24e6G Part numbers for discs, 1J0 615 301L

If it says FSII, in much smaller font, you'll have 239mm.  Part numbers for discs, 6Q0 615 301.

There are a few options for spark plugs, some depending on engine code. Is this a 6-valve engine (BMD code 54bhp) or 12-valve (BME code 64bp)?

One option that suits either engine is a Bosch F7HER2 plug,  VW Group part code 101 905 601B.

Another is an 'economy'  version by Beru: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=jzw905603b&_sacat=0

Hi Wino, I thought the estate only came with the 64HP 1.2 engine? Regardless, the engine code is BME. What's the part number for that engines specific spark plugs? As for the brake discs, I'll check the diameter after work.

Front discs are 256x22

Didn't know that about estates.

Both plug numbers above are suited to the BME. There are a few in the listings that only mention being for BMD.

Thanks for the help everyone. I've found Skoda parts diagrams here: https://www.ilcats.ru/skoda/?function=getModels&market=CZ&language=en which has helped tremendously. I found it a while back when I was trying to find parts diagrams for my old Merc and I'm happy to report that it also has Skoda diagrams.

One final thing, would the wheels with the part number 6Q0601027F be alright fitment wise? They have the same dimensions as far as I can see, but maybe I'm missing something.
