Brake upgrade - VW Caddy 2k (golf/octavia front end)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

From what I have read online the 2k caddy (2003-2010 ish) shares its front end with the mk5 golf, and therefore octavia 1z. If this is the case what can be done in the way of brake upgrades? Bought a caddy van for "reach 'n' wash" window cleaning and its going to be pretty much on max payload, so want it to be able to stop well enough!

Does anyone have any recommendations? I assume first port of call would be GTi/vRS 312mm brake upgrade? Not enitrely sure tbh, but the brakes arent great when its empty at the moment, so want to remedy that.

Yeah they're all the same, the only difference is the hubs. Lower spec/engines are 50mm and the likes of the GTI/VRS etc are 55mm struts.

I'm sure both my caddys have been 55mm struts though so should just be bolt on.
