Permanent Puncture Protection - discuss

Featured Replies

Anybody got any thoughts / inputs / experience of this type of Permanent Puncture Prevention products ?

Seems to be a few around offering similar products e.g.

Anybody got it or had it on their previous cars ?

For

I used a similar product on an earlier car. We used to get a lot of punctures (long story) and so I persuaded the company who were fitting it, that I wanted to buy the product and fit it myself. It did work for a while, but however when you did get a puncture (pressure had gone down slightly) the tyre would only stay up if you kept to below about 50 mph. Above that and you would get a flat tyre and a wheelarch decorated in colourful sticky stuff !! It works well on my ride-on lawn mower though. I only got round to fitting it on one car, but used the product to get me home withjout having to change a wheel on the other car. You had to remove the tyre valve, push a tube over the valve stem and inject the correct amount from a calibrated squeezy bottle, then replace valve and pump up with electric tyre pump.

This method saved me gettong very wet and muddy on a few occasions.

My local tyre/alloy wheel dealer hates the stuff. Says it makes a big mess and like IANN said over 50/60plus u get a two tone wheel arch of gunk green mess everywhere.

(Save your money i think thats what a spare wheel is for puntures)

Completly agree with your dealer.

Tried it on a motorbike once - what a mess that made.

Also wrecks the tyre

Used to be amoung SMART owners as they carry no spare, some liked it and some didn't. Don't know if it was placebo but some reported slight balance problems.
