Door swap - Electric window

Featured Replies

Just gone out to lock the car up for the night, closed the Windows and the passenger side has decided  to go bang. Got a lot on tomorrow and because I need the car but don't have a lot of time to mess about, I'm thinking the quickest way to sort this is to swap the complete door from my spares car (hatch) onto the estate.

Both cars are the same spec. 1.4 tdi sport one is 06 the other 07.

I assume it's a straight swap unless anyone knows different?

As long as they are both electric windows and central locking etc they should be a straight swap. You will have to put the window down and then do it up with by turning the key to the lock position in the drivers door and holding it over. This way the car learns the window position and the one touch will work on the drivers window switch again.

Thanks for the reply but just qent for it and was all done by 10 o'clock. Didn't have to reset the windows - both were up during the swap. Hardest bit was my little fat fingers getting the plugs for the wiring out of the A pillar. Thanks for the reply but was all done by 10 o'clock.
