Transmission lock

Featured Replies

Has anyone had this fitted?

As kessy seems easy to bypass if you’re not careful, it seems like a potentially good idea.

there is a dealer fit option in the accessories book, but I am struggling to find prices.

thanks

Thieves who are equiped with KESSY signal increaser will not find transmission lock as a big problem IMHO.

I would rather invest that money in a nice looking RFID box, place it where I usually like to put my car keys and hold my car keys in it when I'm home.

That said, Skoda sells it as a aftertermarket product too for 278.18 euros (https://eshop.skoda-auto.sk/eshop/en/b2c/mechanical-transmission-locking-system-565071775x). Mind, this is a left hand driving version and for Kodiak but the price seems same for all Skoda models. Both manual and automatic gearbox versions are available.

Be nice if you could do something other than a massive disk lock etc,  but it all looks too easy to break into. Sure they won’t bother doing an RHD version also.

Probably the most versatile solution would be some aftermarket extra immobilizer. There are all kinds of such third party anti theft systems available. For example (it's for VW though): http://www.trackingmycar.co.uk/product/vw-autowatch-ghost-immobiliser/

I'm sure that some can be found for Superb too (and VW stuff usually works with Skoda).

Somebody I think detailed a sequence whereby, entry to vehicle via Kessy can be disabled/enabled. Something to do with the use of the lock buttons on the key.

I would just want to disable it completely on the infotainment etc.

There are still pedals locks to consider

For example you can be creative, get the dust off your welding machine, and make one damn sexy pedals lock by yourself:

A lady never asks and a gentleman never tells

Have Insurance & GAP insurance and let them take it away, hope it is never recovered.

Or put a steering wheel lock on so that unless they really want your car they do not get into it.

It says in the description “The lock must not compromise the appearance of the interior.”

You can make your own mind up on that one!

Are you kidding @xman? Do you know how much crocodile leather costs!?!? It's like leaving your new MacBook PRO on your car rear window and hoping it's still there when you get back from movies:D
