PD 130 TDi owners

Featured Replies

Hi,

Thinking about buying a 130 pd, just wondered what you guys thought about the car and if any of you have had it chipped and if so what you thought.

Oh and if any of you are thinking about selling please let me know:)

Cheers,

Scott

had my PD 130 Octy 18 months now , went for the 130 because needed diesel but found the 105 and 110 did not have enough punch . Very impressed for the accelation from 50 to 70 and from 70 to 115 , gets you out iof the way very quickly . The docs on mine actually have it rated as 136 because there is a margin of difference and they do not all come in bang on 130 .Still get average of 50 MPG . Could push it to 100 all thwe time and revs are between 2.5/2.8 . 6 speed gearbox is fine Have not modded it as will wait till warranty is over . Assume one could be modded to 150/165 fairly easily but then brakes would need upgrading etc . Although thinking of going in for the VRS Diesel if it looks right .

jabba approx 185bhp. They recommend a chipped 130 over a chiped 1.8T, they said it would be just as quick? but with over double the MPG...

No Skoda 130, but am just trading in my Golf GT TDi 130 which was preceded by a Passat 130TDi Sport...

Really impressed with the acceleration and general performance of the engine in both (and the fuel economy - 55+ on a good run in the Passat, nearer 60mpg in the Golf). Managed about 30,000 trouble free miles in the Passat in just over a year, and have done about 14,000 (not so trouble free, hence the change) miles in the Golf, although none of the problems were down to the engine (clutch hydraulics blew, and then the brakes failed - apparently the brake pipe was rubbing against the Power Steering pipe:rolleyes: ).

I've got really cheapo tyres on the Golf at the moment, and it spins the wheels at any opportunity (corners, starts, straights) in pretty much any of the lower gears, so it's got a lot of power even without a remap.

I pick up my '53 plate Octy vRS estate on Saturday (swap for the Friday Afternoon Golf). Just couldn't find a 130 Estate anywhere. I think that seeing the vRS first didn't help though:)

I've driven a 1.9 110 (Golf Plus) which I wasn't particularly impressed with - really sluggish, and when you're used to 130 performance you tend to use a heck of a lot more fuel in a 110!

Good luck with finding one!

Cheers

Ben

Well i had a custom Jabba map..... which rated 197bhp on their dyno, and 173bhp on someone elses......their are numerous "bun-fights" between people over which tuners rollers are the most accurate blah blah blah blah blah.,

But...

you won't be disappointed with the result....

My PD130 (Passat, 5 gears) is a little scary. Booting it results in traction issues.....lol.

But it's rapid and has seen off cars costing more.....and still returns 50+mpg......
