Dislocated driveshaft?

Featured Replies

I've had enough of this car now.

I've had the VRS up on axle stands yet again this time to fit new tie rods, TT wishbones and drop links.

I thought I'd upset a driveshaft when I pulled the strut free to pull the wishbone out

The boot appears to be pinched as if its twisted. I turned it and it all feels connected and everything went back together nicely

I started the car with the wheels off and both sides rotated at engine speed.

Wheels on and on the ground, selected a gear and no drive, just a nasty grinding noise so driveshaft must of dislocated somewhere, I'm guessing at the CV joint.

Do I need to remove it to relocate it and how did it all go back together if it was out of place to start with?

Well that wasnt ever going to go back in. CV joint had completely broken.

It pulled off the driveshaft really easily and there was bearings and grease everywhere.

Hardly any bearings in the cage where they should of been
