aerial fault code and radio not good (FM)

Featured Replies

Hi All.

Not y strong point this . Had the std radio fault code , plus not good on FM. Assumed aerial, have replaced this with a decent quality one, still no better . Have checked the connection in the roof and that looks good. Assume I could check connection to the radio , but have no idea how to get to it . One other point is that the radio seems a bit naff, it does not follow the station that you are tuned to so have to keep re tuning on a long journey. Thinking it might be better to just stream from my phone , but discover there is no Bluetooth ???Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Whizzkid, do you have a jumbo box in the car with the Aux In socket built in ...if so you can buy a Blutooth receiver that will pick up your streaming audio from your phone and play it through the head unit ... This is the set up I have and it sounds better than the FM transmitters you can buy

The photos are the KS My Jack2 that I'm using, around £18-£20 from Tesco but I'm sure there's others would do the same job... It's rechargeable and runs for around 5-10 hours fully charged ...

Hope this helps

I have been all over it this morning and radio appears to be working ok , checked in settings ant 1 and 2 and rds 1. I just think its probably a poor quality receiver. Signals down here in the west Country are very patchy.

Thanks for the top tip re the Bluetooth to Aux, never new they existed. Will go down that route.
