Cleaning painted calipers

Featured Replies

So I went and bought my first car, this Fabia vRS! I love it and have spent ages so far polishing it. I would also like to clean the brake calipers and make them green again (as they are currently pretty black with brake dust) and I was wondering if anyone has any tips about the best way to clean calipers and get rid of brake dust?

Thanks,

Remove the wheels, use alloy wheel cleaner to loosen the brake dust on the calipers then jet wash them off.

Very nice..... use a some wire wool to loosen tough bits and a aerosol brake cleaner to finish off. Just finished mine but painted red this time. Looks in really good condition, keep the polishing up etc and it'll last for years. I paid the price of not doing this and it's now booked in for respray everything bar the roof. Not cheap but just didn't want to get rid of it.... they become addictive :D there are plenty of things to tinker with!
