Hi iv read about a shim kit for the fabia vrs which goes on the input shaft very easy to install.

The shim installed isn’t the right thickness causing excessive play. The new shim fixes this so I believe.

My old fabia gearbox let go on the same bearing which questions if this was the cause? 

I now have another vrs and wondered if the shim applies to all vrs vehicles? 

I fitted one years ago on a friends car which was a Leon tdi for him but don’t remember the reason.

Does anybody know much about it?

Thanks I did it yesterday hopefully will give the box a couple more years.
