Ie 7

Featured Replies

Anyone else trying IE7 ......It's a beta but it seems OK just wondered what others thought

been using it for ages, very nice indeed

Yep , seems ok so far.

Doesn't do much that Firefox can't but it's a big improvement over V6

I'll not be touching it. Firefox is the browser of choice as far as i'm concerned.

Steals focus a lot.

I like the "blank" tab at the end. I don't like the inability (without 3rd party software) to rearrange the tabs.

I like the compatability with websites that ff doesn't have.

Indifferent to "losing" the menus.

I have noticed that it "breaks" Outlook Express.

When you click on a link in an email or newsgroup post in OE , nothing happens at all since installing IE7 (which can't be removed)

I've noticed a similar problem with MSN Messenger v7, but it happened before I installed IE7. Doesn't annoy me enough to seek the cause :) Sometimes clicking on a different part of the link or clicking a few times seems to help

There was a "security update" a year or so back that part broke it. Sometimes the links would be dead and if you hovered the pointer over them nothing would show in the bottom left , but if you clicked onto a different message then back again they would work again.

Now they are broken full time

Had a play with it for a while, looks nice but went back to SlimBrowser as I couldn't suss out how to open new pages in new tabs automatically as SlimBrowser does. For example my home page opens as Sky News, I then click on Briskoda and it opens it over Sky News rather than in a new tab. Could just be me but I couldn't find out how to change this.

AUse it at work. nice. actuslly annoyed my the other day having use ie 6 at home, as had no built in RSS abilities.

Eager for final official release.

Anyone whos using hotmail trying Windows Live Mail Beta?

Trying it out atm, works quite well.

Dont think im trying live messenger

What do those do for you then? Not very well up on RSS...

 What's the advantage of using/testing a beta version of something on a home computer if it will be free when it comes out officially in any case (especially if it can't be removed)?

I tested a commercial package recently, being given a complimentary version for my trouble worth

I think people like to try new stuff, for fun. Let's face it, IE6 is pretty long in the tooth now, and people are impatient for something new, that will compete with Firefox.

Why have spamming IE7 when you can have Firefox. 5mb against 60mb tells you something about the product, plus IE 7 ill just grow with all the MS add ins.

Sorry but after using Firefox for 2 years there's no way back to MS offering. Even gave up messenger as the last 2 attacks came from that direction. Have you seen the difference between the number of connections opened when using IE and Firefox, last time FF had 2 connections MS sleepers had 17. All active after checking with PC guard.
