Well , 10 laps into the race so far and it's looking like it'll be a good race and hopefully a decent season as well.

The qualifying yesteday was better than last years snooze-fest and the change from V10 to V8 engines doesn't seem to have hurt the racing at all.

Good so far ....but the old V10s are causing problems for the others ......200bhp more

Well they are limited to lower revs than last year which *should* have dropped the power to a similar level as the V8s , but it doesn't seem to be working quite right

Liked the way one of them outdragged Coulthard down the straight .....I'll bet there are some "talks" on more limiting after

The old V10's did seem to have a little bit more of an edge, wonder if they'll introduce more limiting?

Pity that David C didn't get into the point's, young Rosberg is a promising new driver though isn't he.

Had funny feeling Rosberg would do well ....showed the others how to overtake :D

I stupidly didnt realise it was on early and spent the morning out washing the Pick- up, Escort and the Primera. Have to watch the highlights later.

The odd thing was the half-past start, luckily SWMBO's birthday today so I was up doing a fried breakfast. Was meant to be a late-breakfast-in-bed but ended up becoming a breakfast-in-front-of-F1  She didn't mind (apart from the bit where I forgot to do the eggs :o )

Looks like this year may actually involve a bit of proper racing rather than full dominance by a team, plus tyre changes back makes things more interesting. Not had chance to see the qualifying, what was the feeling on that, good/bad/couldnt care less ?

Qualifying was pretty good though the first bit of the third session was just lapping to burn off fuel.

Think qualifying could do with a bit of tweaking, what with the burning-off fuel laps etc., all seemed a bit confusing at times, the race itself was good, Bahrain seemed a strange event to start the season with, looked like a bit of a barren wasteland from some angles! No real atmosphere. Favourite bit was Crown Prince of Bahrain congratulating Fernando Alonso after the race, he said 'well done... Alonso' as if he was a schoolboy being reprimanded by his teacher or something! Maybe he's a Schumi fan (probably owns about 10 ferraris!). Also strange to see Steve Rider presenting ITV sports, he's done a Des Lynam and turned to the dark-side!

loved fisi's "it's fvcking ****" comment broadcast over the pit radio after his highspeed map developed a fault...should have gone to jabba!

'twas a good race - enjoyed it :) shame I missed the qualifying, sounds like that was interesting too ;)

should have gone to jabba!

Pit Radios used to be televised in the BTCC, it was an excellent idea. Gives a more realistic feel.

It was just by chance that I gave it a look. I haven't watched F1 for around 5 years as I felt it had got boring. Watching the same cars go round and round for the duration in the same order.

I was totally gobsmacked by the race and it had me hooked for the duration, I will definatley be tuning in for the rest of the season.

On a slightly different note has anyone been watching Motors TV as they are currently showing the 1996 BTCC championship. I had forgotten how much I used to enjoy this as well. I still watch the current season but now realise that the older seasons were so much better with the allowed contact. Much more entertaining. Now if they only show when the Alfa's were dominating the championships that really was a good year.
