Air con problem.

The intermittent working at the compressor was due to the pistons sticking and this would free up with a light tap on the compressor and work for awhile but then stop.

I am now on the lookout for a compressor. Thank goodness the hot weather has come to an end!

Can you not strip them down and refurb them?

If you're after a new one, you might want to get on it sharpish. Temperatures are supposed to go back up as of next week!!

Surprisingly, the new dryer actually worked for me and now I have air so cold, you can't even touch the cold pipe without risking your fingers sticking to it!

The old dryer was utterly blocked up and knackered, which is why I wasn't getting any cooling through - Change every 2 years, for sure!!

Bit of a slow catch up.

I fitted a new compressor sourced on eBay for £143 and fitted it some days ago. I had the system filled up with gas and it is blasting ice cold air now.

So a result but could've saved myself the bother of fitting the £12 dryer. Hey ho, you have to start somewhere and the cheapest option seems the best idea at the time.

It's always best to replace the cheapest parts first, but I understood you ought to replace the dryer roughly every 2 years anyway... It certainly doesn't hurt.
