If I'm honest I'd prefer to pay someone to do it but since I can no longer find someone that does an excellent job I'm going to  do it on my own. The interior of mine is cleaned out twice weekly with the exterior being done roughly once a week. I clean the inside whilst waiting on my children at sports club so this time would be otherwise wasted anyway. I also go over the exterior at the same time removing bugs etc.

If you're looking for a "quick fix" that adds some protection you could do a lot worse than grabbing a bottle of Gyeon Wet Coat. It's really easy to use and adds a few months "protection" for about 10 minutes work!

  • Wash the car
  • Spray Wet coat on car
  • Jet wash wet coat off the car
  • dry the car as usual

The attached photos give you an idea of the level of beading from today's rain :)

Some people prefer to sit on the sofa and watch TV, or spend time on forums.

And others prefer to do things and go places in their cars, rather than spend all their time cleaning them.

As @robdav says, each to their own. I like a clean car as much as the next person... it just isn't as high up my priority list as other things that take up my time.

I'm lucky enough to be able to do both.

That looks to do the same job as the Autosmart Aquawax I use, makes drying the car much quicker too.

@silver1011 - yep, it's the same kind of thing as Aquawax :)

Don't get me wrong, I DON'T spend all my time cleaning my car, I love being out driving too :)

Just so we're clear here (because you Irish can be a funny bunch at times)... you're not on about sex with the car, are you? :o

God no. Being Irish, I'd never fit in the tailpipe.  Not that I checked or anything.

Didn't Prince Charles used to have sex with a Princess.....

I just knew keeping hold of my Big Book of 80's Schoolboy Jokes, would come in handy.
