Fabia mk2, Airbag light, OBD2 Resistors etc etc,

Featured Replies

Hello all, my 08 fabia 1.4 tdi estate has failed its mot, the garage who tested the car where good enough to tell me the issues and told me to find an auto electrician.

So i'm a bit stuck im out of mot now and have 2 issues i can't fix with spanners.

The culprits are Drivers seat airbag and Drivers seat belt tension-er unit.

I have ordered  the resistors to bypass the units,  the seat belt is only 2 wire and i hope i am right in saying the resistor should be approx  2.7k Ohms.

The drivers seat has 3 wires, does anyone have any idea where  the resistor should be soldered in between which wires.

Or can the specified air bags be reset and/or turned off using an OBD2 scanner, if yes which scanner would you recommend.

I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

Sounds as if the vehicle has been involved in an accident at some point! Silly, I know but have you tried taking off the battery for about ten mins? Give it a go, prior to spending money!

Battery has been off overnight, light still on tried this all week.

I have had the vehicle for five years NO accidents, Airbag light has been on since an oversized tire fitter moved my seat back while sat in it garage disclaims everything= this is over a year ago.

Im now at the mercy of the auto electricians
