Ive owned my fabia for just over a year and been modifying it bit by bit. Recently ive fitted a 1756 hybrid that i bought new and had it mapped by a reputable tuner. After a day the car has had inconsistent performance and every now and then it would feel like it wasent boosting and billow out smoke but on my stack boost gauge it would show that it was over boosting but 80 percent of the time its ok. Could it be the map sensor as it only happened since the turbo and mapping which a 4 bar map sensor was fitted at the same time. I took it back and they adjusted the map and it was slightly better for a bit then again its happening. I havent got vagcom so cant do logs but after spending a load on the car in the last two months i want it right.

It sounds like the actuator linkage isn't set up properly, they're not plug 'n' play. You can't set the linkage up properly without VCDS.

 

If you continue to allow it to overboost you will destroy that expensive new turbo. Your daft boost gauge should be just fine though so that's alright then 

Thats one think i thought but when i took it back to them a 2.5 hour drive they only tweeked the map and said vnt adjustment was fine because the place they get the turbo from sets them correct
