convenience signal

Featured Replies

I recently had another post, regarding an issue with my a/c where I had a nice offer of checking my fault codes etc, by another Briskodian. Whilst checking over things, he searched the convenience items and discovered that the convenience signal, whereby the indicators flash three times, then cancel, can be altered. I have asked dealers about this and have seen a few others moan about not being able to alter the system so let me assure you, with VCDS, you can!

I didn't ask how many settings there where, I just wanted it set to 0, so that it is not a pain in the arsenal, for my students who often get confused about signalling accidentally, then they try turning it off, to only set the opposite side, then, well-rinse and repeat!

I have had use of other cars, where you can set these signals very easily and i have always turned them off so now, after about nine years, I have been able to switch off my own ones!

Many thanks, Aubrey.

When my wife first got her new Polo back in 2002, I took to that feature like a duck in water!

So, I just had to retro fit it to my 2000 Passat, but in that car, yes, lots of switching the other indicator on initially so I can see where you are coming from!  I think that the max flashes possible are 5, though I’m quite happy with the default setting on all my current cars.

Edit:- for your car’s main use, I think that you should just disable that function as 0 is probably not an option - though I could be wrong.
