Driver side electric window goes off track when continuously closing

Featured Replies

Hey!!

I have a used 14 reg Citigo SE, and yesterday, the window started to go all funky and began to close off-track if I closed it continuously by holding the button!! If I 'pulse' it i.e. close it bit by bit slowly, it works fine.

The car is still under a 30 day warranty from the dealer but I was curious as to how much it would cost to fix this kind of problem and whether it is an electrical or mechanical fault?

Could be a window regulator, if its got a warranty take it back and ask for it to be repaired

I did a regulator on a golf for £30-40. But don't waste your time if you've a warranty it might be more complicated. I had seat do one and that had to change are rubbers in the door frame too.

Facing the same problem... Car is at Skoda workshop at the moment, will keep You posted on the outcome.

Is this a common problem on this little cars?

just a quick update, it was faulty window regulator. Had been replaced by the Skoda workshop as the car was under warranty :D

It makes sense to keep the window runners lubricated to ease the load on the motor/regulator mechanism.

Drop the window to its lowest point and spray the runners with a silicone based lubricant.

Same goes for the door locks too.
