Turbo noise

Featured Replies

When accelerating the turbo kicks in and when I slack off I hear a small whistle, I never heard this before And it’s started to bug me thinking is the turbo on its way out or something. I’ve just taken the car out for a spin to confirm what I’m trying to say and it hasn’t done it well over a few miles worth of slow starts from junctions and getting the turbo to kick in. It’s currently cool outside so I’m wondering if it’s been something to do with the unusual hot spell of weather? Also the car has done 75k miles and I’m also asking what essential part changes should I be making of a car with this many miles, I’m unsure as to what has already been done! Sorry for the very Begginers post!

Which car?

Mine always whistles under heavy acceleration.

Sorry should’ve said lol, fabia vrs mk2, I had the car in winter and always play music but recently I’ve had all the windows down so not sure if I’ve just started hearing it or somethings wrong, it doesn’t always make that noise I think I’m just being paranoid lol

not something to worry about,  re other stuff---gearbox oil change,  refresh /change the power steering fluid, give the battery a charge before winter,    if you plan on keeping it

Isn't that just the dump valve working?
