P0237 + LIMP Mode

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2012 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI. Was driving home the other day and the glow plug light started flashing, but the car was driving normally.

I pulled over and restarted the car, but then the engine mgmt. light came on too, as well as the flashing glow plug light.

As well as that, the car was now put into LIMP mode and has been in LIMP mode since then.

Brought the car to my local mechanic, who ran diagnostics and got just one error code back: P0237 - Turbo Boost Sensor.

So he replaced the Turbo Boost Sensor, but this had no effect.

He then checked all the wiring between the Turbo Boost Sensor back to ECU - no effect. He said all the wiring was fine.

He said the only thing left was to bring the car to a local ECU specialist who can see if there is an issue with the ECU. He thinks that the ECU is the issue, but my understanding is that an ECU fault is pretty rare, and so I'm wondering if there is anything else I can try while I wait for an appointment with the ECU specialist in 2 weeks' time.

I believe that P0237 implies an electrical fault, so should I get an auto electrician to check all the wiring again, in case my mechanic missed something?

Any suggestions?

All help greatly appreciated!

@vborovic Thanks very much for these links.

So it turns out that my mechanic didn't do his job properly. I brought it to another local mechanic and he checked the wiring again. After 20 seconds of looking under the car he saw that one of the 4 wires was completely severed from the sensor when you pulled on it gently.

Clearly my mechanic didn't check the wiring properly.

Glad it was a cheap fix after all!

Then maybe sensor was OK and there was no need to replace it ???
