Octavia LED Headlight Retrofit

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am in the process of ordering a new Skoda Octaiva Estate. The company i work for will only allow me to order the SE Technology model.

I wanted the LED headlights as a do alot of night time driving.

I spoke with the dealer and he said there not an option on the SE Tech model.

He couldn't advise if they could be retrofitted.

So my questions are:

1. Is it possible to retrofit Genuine Skoda LED Headlights?

2. is it just a matter for removing the Halogen Headlight assembly's and install the LED ones?

3. is there any other wiring, sensors or coding that needs to be done?

Thanks

Alan

They certainly were an option on the SE Tech, I’ve done some coding for a forum member who had a 1.0 SE Tech with the LED headlights. I imagine it will be horrifically expensive to retrofit them, but not impossible. Check with a different dealer to see if they are still on the options list for MY19. They were for MY18.

It will be a big and expensive job. Is this a company car? If so I’d leave it as is.

yes, its a company car, so my best and cheapest option is to install some good headlight bulbs?

any recommendations?

With halogens I always found Osram Night breakers to be some of the best. Just don't expect HID/LED levels of output or colour.

I replaced the standard halogen bulbs on my bike with the Osram Night Breaker Laser bulbs and they are certainly worth their price.

An increased range and a crisper light beam.

Oh.. This is going to depress me considerably :(

I have a 1.4 TSI SE Sport with Bi-Xenon lights now and it's going back in December to hopefully be replaced with a 1.0/1.5 TSI DSG SE Technology.

by far the simplest option is to order the car with the spec you want and pay the extra out of your own pocket

That will be considerably cheaper than retrofitting

OR

Order the car with the LED lights, and ask the company to deduct the extra cost from your gross salary, which will be an extra £30 a month ( or whatever )

Saving both you and the company money on tax/NI doing it that way
