Help please - Stability control and Start/Stop error after removing fuses

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I recently had the climatronic fan die on me and to double check it wasn't simply a fuse, I pulled a few fuses to do a general check as I didn't have the manual and fuse diagram to hand, (Not a clever move).  ESC and start stop errors showed up after that and I figured I just needed to get them reset.  I have since had the dead fan replaced but the garage can't remove the errors.  I am wondering if by removing and replacing the fuses have I done something to upset the devices, and also I am wondering if I could have replaced a fuse in the wrong place.

The fuse positions are as shown in the pic below, does anyone know how I can check these are in the correct position?  If I can confirm that then it's time to look at the devices with errors, but it could just be that I replaced one in the wrong slot.

Thanks!

Without knowing what equipment is fitted to your car anything we offer is likely to be something of a shot in the dark.

That said, here's a picture of mine from fairly recently. Based on that, yours looks to be mostly correct. ESC is on fuse number 2, the version of the owner's manual I have to hand doesn't show start-stop. You can download the correct manual for your car from: http://manual.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com/Model/Superb_3T

It's also possible that the faults you're experiencing are a coincidence and have nothing to do with removing the fuses. I would think the next logical step here is for you to get a diagnostic scan done on the car with VCDS, VCP or ODIS to see what faults are registered on the relevant modules and go from there.

Wonder if it's worth sticking a 5A fuse in the bottom right position, to match chimaera's bottom row?

That one's for the heated seat controller.

Thanks a million guys.  V useful to see another fusebox arrangement chimaera.  It all seems to be in order apart from I have a small 10A fuse in position 12 which is listed as "unassigned" in the manual.  That suggests that it could possibly be meant for somewhere else, however I can't see another empty small fuse slot for equipment that I have in the car, and certainly not for ESC or Start/Stop.....could be the pure coincidence theory but I still find that hard to believe.
